The Average Female Midlife Crisis

By Tracie Knight

At a certain point in time, you may feel a change coming about. This may due to a female midlife crisis. This is only natural and it is in no way uncommon. One can expect it to come on at any time in life, and some women even have this as young as third. Men will have this at a later stage and will experience it in different ways.

The thing to remember is that you are realistic and that you don't do anything out of the ordinary. This may be difficult because it is part of the crisis, but one must look at how the process is going and if you find that things are taking a turn for the worse, then you have to take action. It is important that you talk to someone.

A man may buy a Harley Davidson and feel like he is eighteen again, or cruise around and look for a younger girl. Women may do something similar, but they may also do something that is conventional. A crisis like this can be defined as searching for your identity. It does not necessarily have to be a bad thing because self discovery is important.

You have to recognize the signs and symptoms and know when it is getting out of hand. This can be good for you because it is a way in which you can rediscover yourself and learn to identify with what is going on around you. However, one must also be careful because if you start becoming depressed and miserable, it is never a good thing.

In most times, women will splash out and find out more about botox or get something expensive. They may have saved all of their pennies before, so this is something different for them. Changing careers is common during this time. Someone who has been goal orientated may decide to take a break. This may be a good thing just to think about life.

For women who are career focused, it may be a time just to put everything on hold and rediscover who they are. However, this is difficult to do on your own. If you are career women, then the chances are that you have fewer friends that you can talk to, and you do need someone that you can lean towards for guidance.

Sometimes you can be as young as thirty when this hits you and this is where you have to take action because it can be a problem and affect those around you. You may have just started a career at this point and choosing to do something else can be a bad thing. You also need guidance during this time.

Families and friends need to be supportive. You will know during this time who you can rely on, and if you can't find anyone to talk to, then you need to talk to a professional because it is difficult going through a crisis like this on your own. You need to find a mentor who can give you a push in the right direction.
